Document Versioning

ecoDMS allows you to archive any number of document versions. This means that the original persists. As an option you can add a comment to each version.

If ecoDMS created a PDF in addition to the original file, both file types can be retrieved through version management (e.g. when archiving via the ecoDMS Office Plugins).

Optimal and simple version management

Document version control in ecoDMS is user-friendly and simple. The combination with Office plugins perfectly rounds off the range of functions. The following standard functions are available:

  • Add New Version
  • Comment on the version
  • Open Version
  • Export Version
  • Send version as email
  • Finalise document and prevent further versions
  • Lock document for editing and release again (check-in and check-out procedure)
