You can configure various options for the PDF/A printer. If necessary, you can save these in several print profiles. You have the option to create and individually configure several ecoDMS printers. The most important thing is not to rename the ecoDMS default printer. To create additional printers under Windows, complete the following steps:
  1. Go to the Control Panel.
  2. Click “Printers and Devices”
  3. Select the "ecoDMS" printer.
  4. Click "Print Server Properties".
  5. Select the "Ports" tab.
  6. Click “Change Port Settings” (you require administrator permissions).
  7. Click "Add".
  8. Select “ecoDMS Printer” and click “New Port...” ONCE.
  9. Click “Close” and then also close the “Print Server Properties”.
  10. Now select “Add Printer”.
  11. Click “The printer that I want isn’t listed.”.
  12. Select “Add a local printer or network printer with manual settings” and click “Continue”.
  13. The setting “Use an existing port:” should now be selected.
  14. Select “DMSPORT1 (DMS Printer)” from the selection box and click “Next” (the number following DMSPORT varies depending on the number of ecoDMS printer ports that have already been configured).
  15. From the “Manufacturer” selection box, choose “applord gmbh”, and from the “Printer” selection box, choose “ecoDMS PDF Driver”. Click "Next”.
  16. Note: If there is no matching default driver, go to "C:\Program Files (x86)\ecoDMS GmbH\ecoDMS Printer\Printer"
  17. Accept the settings in the next step by clicking “Next”.
  18. Enter a name in the following step, for example, “ecoDMS Letter”.
  19. Now select “Do not share this printer” and click “Next”.
  20. Click “Print Test Page” and check whether the ecoDMS classification dialogue box opens.
  21. Finally, click "Finish".
