ecoDMS GmbH has released another free video tutorial for the ecoDMS document management system. In it, the various search and filter functions of the ecoDMS software are explained in detail.

ecoDMS is an easy-to-use yet comprehensive tool for digitalizing, archiving, sharing, managing, and finding all documents on PC, smartphone, and tablet. With the software, you can find all archived documents and information as easily as searching on Google. The document management system includes many intelligent search and filter functions for this purpose. Recurring searches can even be saved as favorites.
ecoDMS features modern OCR for automatic text recognition. This function is automatically executed in the background for all readable documents. During this process, ecoDMS indexes all text information and metadata of the archived files. If the files are in non-readable formats such as image files—i.e., JPG, PNG, TIFF, etc.—ecoDMS automatically converts them into readable PDFs and then indexes their content as well.
Since ecoDMS automatically ingests archived documents, you can start a fast full-text search across contents, metadata, classifications, and notes simply by entering search terms. You only need to type the appropriate search terms into ecoDMS. The software also recognizes numerous search operators, such as the asterisk, question mark, or tilde. Furthermore, all available content and attributes can be used for searching documents and combined with one another in any way.
Another interesting search function is the integrated shortcut search of ecoDMS. By setting up a personal keyboard shortcut in the ecoDMS Connection Manager, you can start full-text searches directly from any external application. To do this, simply highlight the desired search terms in customer management software, an ERP system, an email, or on any website, and then press the saved key combination. ecoDMS will automatically start the full-text search in the document management system and display the matching search results immediately.
