How does automatic archiving with ecoMAILZ work and what are adapters?

Automatic archiving takes place in the background as soon as the messages arrive at the mail server, from where they are transferred to the revision-compliant container archive. So-called adapters serve as a technical interface between ecoMAILZ and standard email systems. These adapters can be configured flexibly – either via a central journal mailbox containing copies of all emails, or via the individual retrieval of single mailboxes. Before final storage, every email undergoes an automatic validation process to detect faulty or damaged messages immediately. If a validation fails, the system provides automatic error handling depending on the interface (such as IMAP, POP3, or Exchange), for instance by creating a new message with the defective mail as an attachment.
