Settings for the initial installation with example structures as preassignment

For the initial installation of the document management system, ecoDMS Server offers the option to install with suitable predefined settings. These include

  • a small folder tree
  • selected document types
  • and appropriate classification attributes.

If you want to upload the predefined settings later, download the backup file available here. Predefined settings are available for businesses and private users.

Here's how it works:

Initial installation with pre-configuration:

  • During the initial installation of ecoDMS in German under Windows, the pre-configurations are offered for selection during the installation of the ecoDMS Server.

Using pre-configuration later with a backup file:

  • With the "oneClick Backup" program, backups and thus these pre-configurations can be restored into your ecoDMS with just a few clicks.
  • Download the pre-configuration and then select the file through "oneClick Backup" in the "Start Restoration" section.
  • The program is automatically installed during the installation of the ecoDMS Server.

Important notes to consider before restoring a pre-configuration:

  • Restoring a backup will irreversibly delete the current data.
  • If you restore a pre-configuration, all existing settings and data in ecoDMS will be lost.
  • Only use the pre-configuration if your ecoDMS is either empty or the settings and data created in it are no longer needed.
  • Information for the demo version: The demo version is solely for getting to know an ecoDMS version. Restoring a backup will invalidate the 30-day trial period.
  • Information for the full version: If you have already activated your ecoDMS with a full version license, you must first deactivate the license before restoring the pre-configuration. Afterward, the license can be reactivated.
