Microsoft Office Plugin

ecoDMS has its own plugin for Microsoft Office. This means that you can archive documents straight to ecoDMS from

  • Word
  • Excel
  • PowerPoint
  • and Outlook.

When archiving, ecoDMS saves the documents in PDF/A format and in the original Office format. The original file can be edited and saved as a new version if required.

In Office there are various functions available for documents:

  • Archiving documents from Office
  • Opening a document in ecoDMS, editing and saving as a new version
  • Opening a document from ecoDMS and archiving it as a new file in ecoDMS
  • Documents can be classified either automatically based on classification templates or manually by the user

Archiving Emails from Outlook

In addition to Office documents, you can also archive incoming and outgoing emails from Outlook via the MS Office plugin of ecoDMS.

ecoDMS archives the complete email, including any attachments, in the standard mail format EML. The message content (without attachments) is additionally filed as PDF/A.

In Outlook there are various functions available:

  • Sending and archiving outgoing emails
  • Archiving existing emails
  • Archiving attachments only
  • Archiving several existing emails with mass classification (same attributes)
  • Emails and attachments can be classified either automatically based on classification templates or manually by the user
